Hammond’s existing businesses are the lifeblood of our community. Surveys show that 80% of all new jobs in any community are created by existing businesses, which is why we work hard to ensure these businesses grow and thrive.

We achieve this through our proactive business retention program.

The purpose of our business retention program is to enhance the stability and growth of Hammond’s existing companies by connecting them with valuable resources and services offered through our network.

Our primary objectives are to assist businesses with expansions, help them survive economic difficulties, and increase their competitiveness in the marketplace. Company CEOs and business leaders in the region have recognized the value of this proactive resource and are quickly taking advantage of it.

Business retention visits

It is our goal to meet with multiple companies every month in order to keep our finger on the pulse of Hammond’s economy. These business retention visits (which we conduct in partnership with Louisiana Economic Development and GNO, Inc.) help us to identify business needs and concerns while building long-lasting relationships with our business partners.

Through these visits, we help business leaders expand locally, leverage the many resources available in our region, address any concerns their business may face, and identify supply chain relationships.
